Just west of Austin is Johnson City, where the boyhood home of President Lyndon Johnson is located. The history of Texas is also the history of the ranch. There’s no better place to experience ranch life than the famous King Ranch, south of Corpus Christi, near the Gulf coast. As the largest ranch in the U.S., the King Ranch is bigger than the state of Rhode Island. Although still a working ranch, it welcomes visitors for nature and historical tours as well as special interest tours of ranch operations.
