How to choose the size of digital photo frame between ?

By Jerry J. Jansen On September 5, 2009 Under Digital Photography

The size of a digital photo frame is determined by the size of the LCD screen. When a digital photo frame is labelled as a 7” digital photo frame, this refers to the size of the LCD screen. It does not include the actual frame surrounding the LCD screen. The size of an LCD panel is calculated by measuring the distance from the bottom left corner to thetop right corner.

The Common sizes of digital photo frames include:
7 inch digital photo frame
8 inch digital  photo frame
9 inch digital  photo frame
10 inch digital  photo frame
12 inch digital  photo frame

The size of a digital photo frame is directly linked to the price. Therefore, most consumers will select the size of their digital photo frame depending on their budget.
If budget is limited, a 7” digital photo frame should be considered as the minimum size to view your digital photos in reasonable detail.

Also, the resolution of digital frame should be given into account. The minimum resolution for 7” digital frames is 480 x 234  pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio, This will ensure that photos are displayed with a reasonable level of detail. If you want a better detail you may choose a 800 x 480pixels. For 8” digital frames, the satandard resolution is 800 x 600 with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Select the aspect ratio of digital photo frame 4:3 or 16:9 ?
Digital Photo frames typically come in one of two aspect ratios, 4:3 or 16:9. By default, most point-and-shoot digital cameras capture photos in 4:3. A frame with an aspect ratio of 4:3 will be the best fit for your photos, as 16:9 frames will have to crop a piece of the top and bottom of your photos to fit the image on the LCD screen. On the other hand, a 16:9 aspect ratio gives your images a pleasing widescreen feel, which might be a better bet for some.

If Your budget is limited, try to select at least a 7” sized digital photo frame. Our recommended size is a  8” digital photo frame, with a standard 4:3 aspect ratio.
