Using An HD Camcorder

By Jerry J. Jansen On August 21, 2009 No Comments

HD Camcorders may look like standard definition camcorders, and may be often of the same size and design. But don’t be confused, the technology within an HD Camcorder is much more advanced, with the facility to record up to 1080 lines of detail – the same resolution as an High Definition TV.

The higher resolution of HD Camcorders implies that your pictures will be much sharper and show more detail. The superior software features, like manual and automatic focus modes, and improved color balancing, will mean that your videos will look better than previously with your HD Camcorder.

Probably the most important thing to take into account when purchasing an HD Camcorder is which type of format it’s going to be recorded on. You’ve got a choice from Mini-DV tapes, DVDs, or solid state media like memory card or hard disks. Each has its own advantages .

Mini-DV lets you change tapes simply, so you can record hours of video on your HD Camcorder without needing to worry about having insufficient space. It straightforward to edit, but can often take a little time to transfer to your pc.

Blank DVDs are a good option for your HD Camcorder if you need

Choosing Camera Lenses

R. Dodge Woodson

The lenses you use with your camera are critical components of your photography system. Cheap lenses are never a bargain. Inexpensive lenses produce inferior pictures. You don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for an anti-distortion lens to get good pictures, but don’t expect much from an $89.95 lens that you buy at some sale. Photography is an inexpensive hobby. If you want to play, you have to pay.

Fisheye Lenses

Fisheye lenses can be fun to work with. They allow you to create great special effects. However, they don’t have many practical purposes. Of all the lenses available to you, fisheye lenses are one of the least important.

Lenses are rated by focal length. This is measured in millimeters. The smaller the rating is, the wider the view is through a lens. For example, a 16mm lens has a much broader view than a 50mm lens. When you drop down to fisheye status, your pictures are going to have a round perspective. They will no longer look like typical photos. You can use this creative aspect to your advantage.

People are often captivated by images made with a fisheye lens. The reason for this is simple. Fisheye photographs are

Canon Powershot Elph – A Versatile, Durable Family of Digital Camera

By Jerry J. Jansen On August 16, 2009 No Comments

I own many digital cameras right now and have owned many others in the past so I have a lot of experiences with various brands and models and can offer you loads of advice based on my own experiences. Let me tell you a little about my current faves in case you’re in the market for a digital camera but have no idea where to start looking.

I admit it, I am a Canon girl. I have had several other brands of digital cameras, but I have been happiest with my Canons. I now own a Canon Rebel Digital SLR and several lenses, a Canon Powershot Elph (SD 110), and a Powershot (SD850 IS) Elph, as well as two Panasonics and a Sony.
